London, the Special Edition

July 21st, 2010.

Three years ago, I did an internship in London for three months. It was here, I believe, that I found my appreciation for food, and all things delicious. For me, London holds a special place in my heart.

</img>
Would you get sausages from here?
</img>
YOU CLEVER. WE LOVE YOU LONG TIME.
</img>
Hope your food is good, haha?
</img>
Hypoglycemia here we come!
</img>
It's like playing Connect Four.
</img>
Trying to be Parisian in Paris. Food-wise, not bad. Ethnicity-wise, fail.
</img>
As opposed to...not? Yes.
</img>
This was what was on the menu for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner.
</img>
This is a one of the sadder meals I've had. Luckily I don't remember the restaurant.
</img>
COFFFFFFFEEEE.
</img>
English breakfast.
</img>
Where to find me when in London.
</img>
The market is so complicated that there was a need for a cow map.
</img>
It's much more tempting if you're actually there.
</img>
Stop it. Really.
</img>
Custom-made-sandwich-melt-producer. Double-sided too.
</img>
Turrrrrkish delight!
</img>
Sausage-fest. Where are all the girls? Oh, they're making sausages...
</img>
Homemade ravs.
</img>
Pac-man would be proud.
</img>
Large profiterole-like thingies.
</img>
I'll take all of this, thanks.
</img>
And this too.
</img>
My first encounter with gooseberries. Makes a wonderful sweet sauce for duck dishes.
</img>
Fresh from the sea.
</img>
Jamaican food. Sanitary? Hmm...
</img>
Fermented ethanols.
</img>
Pig's head.
</img>
Always more room for pie. MEAT pie, that is.
</img>
Lunch at The Landau. Bread box.
</img>
Landau finger food.
</img>
Landau appetizer. Yeah wtf, right. Appetizer? Looks like a full on meal.
</img>
THIS was the meal. Lamb and Shepard's pie.
</img>
Dessert. Blueberry souffle with a sugar crystal concoction jammed in a quenelle of creme fraiche? Stuff. It was good.
</img>
Even the sugar cubes looked official.
</img>
And the flowers. Sitting there like a BOSS.
</img>
Palate cleansers. More wtf. Was not aware of such elegance. What happened to scalding tea and toothpicks?
</img>
Ah yes, there we go.
</img>
Mint tea. Mint jammed in hot water. Nice.
</img>
Something, something, something, surrounded by hummus. NOMNOM.
</img>
You're welcome.

Hopefully I can live there one day. Fully exploit all them goodies. Oh, dreams.
